I am in the process of de winterizing the Retro. The issues is the water heater is making a whistling sound when the hot water is turned on. It doesnt matter if water from tank or city water is used. The noise is a high pitched and only stops when by pass valve is open. Also pressure seems to be low when noise starts. There are no water leaks and I have opened all the valves including outside shower. Any suggeations. GBA!!SVJ

Joe,
Sounds like one of your heater valves is blocked or partially closed. (The valves on either side of the bypass). Assuming you already tried cycling them, close, open, one of them may have a broken stem, and is not actually moving with the handle position.
Good luck.

good call I think the by pass valve for cold inlet is faulty . It started dripping after I made the post. There is not much room to work on it the 150 is close quarters.  So I will go to town and buy the valve I thought about removing the by pass unit and going direct. I always use both methods to winterize the Retro air/antifreeze so by pass sort of useless. GBA!!SVJ
