Can anyone tell me what the SE stands for at the end of the model number? We currently have a 2017 177SE but are looking to get more floor space keeping the small "canned ham" look. We are thinking about the 176S that offers a slide. The dealer had no idea what the difference was between the SE and the S.

We were originally told that the SE stood for "Special Edition" because of the artic wrap and the max fan. During our visit with the dealer we were told that we add any options to the 176S, such as artic wrap and the max fan.

so... what does the SE mean? Thanks in advance!

Special Edition. There used to be a 177.

Thanks Mike, and a special thanks for the link!!

Most all of the suffixes used by the mfg's are easily figured out and SE certainly sounded to me that it should stand for special edition. Guess our salesman needs to brush up on his knowledge of the product he is selling!

It appears to me that with the options provided on the "build sheet", any floor plan can be made into a special edition for a price.

Again, thanks for taking the time, and for your very valuable information!!

When we bought our 2018 177SE in January, our salesman told us the SE stood for "Special Edition".  Basically, no option configuration was permitted -- it comes with what it comes with.  Only choice one has is exterior/interior color selection.  He also told us they went to this approach as many folks were adding the same options to the base 177, and from a production standpoint it was easier to build a camper that was standardized with all of the same options.  When we visited the "factory" in northern Indiana, we saw the efficiency first-hand -- there were more 177SEs being built than any other model.

Thank you John!

We were told the same thing when we bought our 177SE. Check out the link in the first reply, very informative!

We have really enjoyed our 177 but traveling with a dog that takes up a lot of floor space the slide out in the 176 will surely make a big difference! Since we already own a 177SE we spotted the difference right off the bat. Mainly the Max Fan. They also did away with the baby moon hub caps!!

After haggling a bit with the salesman (who knew nothing about the Retros) we ended up ordering the 176S with all the options of the SE and then some.

We really love these little canned hams and can't wait for our new one to be delivered.

Thanks so much for your reply! Safe travels to you and Abby. (BTW, we named ours Abbey, for...
"Abbey's On The Road Again". A little Beatles and a little Willie Nelson!)
