Hi Kirk! Both pics are without the lift. I haven't committed to the quoted price from the dealer yet. Doubling in price from the quote of $270 to $540 because they would need to cut the weld seems a bit much. Maybe I should contact a welding shop instead.

From those 2 pictures of your trailer it appears you already have a lift kit of 3-4 inches installed. I'm not sure you can go any higher. Can you take a pic of the entire trailer ? How high is it sitting now?

Hi Kirk, There is a tube already welded in there from the factory. I read on another forum where the owner added an additional lift onto the tube and that's what I was hoping to do. Maybe it's not possible with the lift kit from Dexter though. There are about 15" from the ground to the bottom of the body. I forgot to measure to the bottom of the black and gray water drain.

I'm no RV expert but your camper is already sitting pretty nice with the lift you already have installed. That's about the height I'm going for once I put my kit in.  And I'll be happy with that.

If you go any higher you may be compromising road handling issues and putting added stress to the overall suspension and camper. You may want to call Riverside, tell them you already have a (3-4 inch?) lift kit on your axle and wondering if you could go higher.

I don't know really - but if I had to guess I'd say with your type of axle set-up you may be best staying right where you are. I HOPE to have that much room after I put my kit in. 😉

That's an interesting point, Kirk. Thank you for bringing it up! I hadn't thought of compromised road handling as a result of the lift but it makes sense. I have emailed Riverside and will see what they say about it.

Julie - that's my conclusion after looking at stickers on my 2018 195, as well. Axel is Dexter (as well as wheel rims); frame is Lippert (as well as motorized hitch jack & other components).

Thanks for the verification. Have a great day!

The wheels are probably Dexstar. AFAIK Dexter doesn't make wheels. The names are confusingly similar.
