IMG_20180911_122128605_HDR.jpgThis is what my 2017 176s looked like after the Coker tire blew on the right side. Obviously the tire is trash, but so was the rim, 1\2 the wheel well, the fender trim and the body panel. I've never seen a worse blow out. 100s in repair work. This was 2 days after we sat for 4 days waiting for repair in a small Minnesota town when the 4 band leaf spring on the other side of the trailer broke in half, swung out from under the trailer and ripped the left tire to pieces. We had to use the spare and replace both leaf springs (the other one was cracked). We were on our way home and were going to replace the tires when we got there. So... We bought 3 Carlisle trailer radials on the road, with one put in the back end since we had no spare tire rim anymore.

When we got home, we ordered 3 new Carlisle white rims and had the tires remounted. Luckily the baby moons fit on them.

The tire dealer told me to seal the wheel wells with coating and silicone or he knew from experience that water would get thrown onto the unsealed undercarriage of the trailer and cause wood breakdown. I am doing that now.

Anyone else have these problems? The leaf springs were especially bad and annoying. Also, how do I get the white fender trim I need to replace? From Riverside?

They just use common corner molding. Lots of places carry it - check a large nearby RV dealer.

Those Coker Tires are 4 ply poly non-trailer rated crap!  We were lucky this blowout didn’t damage trailer.  I’m surprised there isn’t a class action suit because they are so dangerous!   Riverside just blew me off and wouldn’t warranty.  This was my first trip with brand new tires!  I replaced all with good year endurance and just completed a 330o mile trip with no problems.

Check my blog menu on tires.
Google.    http://www.195camper.com
I replaced mine with less than 200 miles on them with GY Endurance.
It has the size and other information.
Wow, glad I did before the road trip 12 days from now.

Thanks, and I hope better health for you.
I'm hoping to catch you in AZ sometime this winter. Will be going to the RV show for sure.
In the spring I'll be heading north to southern Utah then up to Idaho as weather permits. Looking forward to fly fish there. Then Yosemite and grand Teton... Then south Dakota badlands to upper peninsula of Michigan before back to Ohio.

I think you mean Yellowstone, not Yosemite. 2016 we did 10 states and 29 Nat. Parks including those you mention. Utah has a lot to see, hope you leave yourself enough time to take it all in. A trip we will not forget...

Well that'll be in the spring when the weather allows.
Not sure when freezing wouldn't be a problem in that area. Moab.
Early March? April?

weather has been crazy last 4 winters. We went to Mojave Refuge in Jan and it was in low 80's. Then 2 week later it snowed. My friend lives in upper Mojave by Death Valley and they had quite a few hard freezes last winter . Lot of frozen pipes which never happened before. Back in the 80;s we had snow in Reno in July. Real crazy.GBA!!SVJ
