Started out near Dallas Ft Worth. Went to Lubbock to visit family. Through Cloudcroft NM to Las Cruces, NM.  Then to Tuscon, Phoenix the Grand Canyon Tombstone then home. 9 days on the road averaged 18 mpg with the Kia Sportage.
Here are some of the sights.

The first day out I just set the cruise and let it go. We averaged 13 mpg that first day. Well that wasn't gonna work. I used to drive an 18 wheeler, so the next morning I decided to drive to the tachometer instead of the speedometer and cruise control. My rule was a 2500 RPM ceiling. We got 18 MPG for the rest of the trip. That works great. We didn't have to give up too much speed very often either.

Thanks Jim. That's one of the reasons we chose the Retro Jr. Didn't want to have to buy a new tow vehicle. Great gas mileage allows us more and longer adventures.
