Looks like some great scenery.  From what I have read, Joshua Tree is very pretty.  Maybe one day we can  visit.  Thank you for sharing the photos.

jackgomez: You're killing me! I'm stuck working in the frozen North while my Retro languishes in storage in sunny Florida. Those lovely pictures are painful, but thank you for posting them!

I saw the first photo and thought I was looking at a photo of my trip in December. I camped on that very row in the Desert Hot Springs KOA, backing up to the trees, and have the same color trailer. You were smarter though, as you got to spend daylight hours in Joshua Tree. I spent the last bit of daylight searching for a campsite in Joshua Tree, to no avail.  There were many people up on rocks, apparently ready to watch a nice sunset, as I drove around and around looking for a campsite.

hi, I’m new here. Just bought a 2018 Retro177SE. It’s still at the dealers! Excited to see this post as my son is moving to the Marine Base in 29Palms and I’m excited for visiting and camping there. Is there a KOA near there or were you at the Joshua Tree Park? I’ve never been to California. What do you suggest close to 29Palms?

North of 29 palm Area is the Mojave Nat Preserve a vast area of desert with ghost towns. a historic train station,Mitchell Caverns State Park and old towns along historic rt 66 . It is home to desert turtles and Big Horn sheep if you are lucky. Weather is best March thru May. Many BLM camp grounds and lots of primitive camping depends on what you like. Our favorite is Hole in the Wall cg. All; this is on line good luck. GBA!!SVJ

Nice pic. Hope to be out there one of these days. Will be at Stone Mountain Campground in mid July for a week, and then up to Asheville for a few days. Will post pics.

Jack, I see you carry your bikes like I do.  I presume a rack attached to the bumper?  How's it attached?  Did you reinforce at all?
Mine's just a 1.25" hitch receiver u-bolted to the bumper, no reinforcement.  No problems, yet.  🙂

I installed the Mount-n-lock safety struts which secure the bumper to the frame. Weight of two bikes at the farthest point has always concerned me. Concern is less but I still check when on the road.

Interesting, now I've got to take a look under there!  Thanks.
