I think your right, but I am still happy with my purchase. Works well, runs what I need it to, and not to loud. If something happens I will reevaluate the situation and decide then. So far, so good.

I just set up my generator.
Yamaha EF2000is
Out boondocking in the AZ desert until Sunday. I used it to recharge the one battery I have. Basically just topping off the battery. Using the heater, lights, watching TV e.t.c.
Well it quickly topped off the battery. Allowed use of microwave. Refrigerator switched over to electric at that time.
The only thing that would ruin is the air conditioner.
The generator was extremely quiet.

I did add this meter to keep track of the hours used.
I only used it 1.6 hours.
First maintenance it's suppose to be at 10 hours then every 50 hours of use.

Hi Joe,  no i bought it separately took it apart wrapped the wire 5 times around the spark plug wire and zip tied it like the instructions showed.  Then figured out where i was going to mount it and drilled a wire width hole to run the wire through to the mounting spot. Then mounted it with the cushion provided and 2 screws. So it was a separate purchase.  When it is running it gives you the rpm and when shut down gives you the hours run. Accumulative so you can schedule maintenance. First 10 hours and every 50 hours after...

I got this one on sale a year ago for $450 I think. It's been great and runs my AC on my 181b, I also just updated my converter to a boondocker replacement and put in a group 31 battery. The poor charging from the old unit ruined my group 24, wouldn't charge over 13.6v
