I'll start this forum topic off.......

If you are looking for a unique out of the ordinary camp spot this is it.  No RV hookups but they do have water in some of the camp spots.  This is private property but the owner has it setup for camping for friends.  (tell em Jon sent ya)  There is a pit toilet but it would be listed in Forbes magazine as one of the nicest in the country.  Has a small window to view the sunsets from, magazine rack, super clean and a solar light.

The campground is located on a Mesa which requires going up a fairly steep dirt trail (approx 500 yards long) to reach the top where the sites are located.  Under 21' recommended.  We recently went and were able to pull our low clearance 155XL through the wash at the bottom and up the hill.  Once on top of the mesa, there is some outstanding views of the Cuyama Valley below.  Can be very hot in the summer.  Best months are April/May and  October.

A mile up the road is one of the best offroad riding spots in the area for 2 wheel and ATV's.

Fire pits and covered picnic tables.  Quiet except for the coyotes at night.  Cost is typically 20.00 a night.  Call ahead as sometimes they will have a large group.  Definitely not for everyone but those that like to get away from the crowds and enjoy some more primitive camping.
