Hi All. I appreciate being added to the community. My Hubbie and I have been researching the 195 for about two months and had planned to buy it from our local shop after our trip to Disney. While in Florida I made a 2 1/2 hour trip to go see the 265 BHS in person and have since decided to buy it. We were a little torn, this being a new model, but pulled the trigger last week and put down a deposit. (I had already started buying accessories and gadgets for the interior before the trip.)

The local dealer has given me an arrival date of March 18-20th. They had 2 already on order so it should arrive earlier than if we special ordered.

Here comes my questions: the dealer says they only order inventory with all the 'bells and whistles' but can't give me the options that is coming with. Since they have not provided the VIN number yet, would Riverside take my call direct to ask what options are on it?

Reading through your posts it seems that an awning over the slide is a MUST HAVE. Is this something we should have Riverside add or the local shop? When you say you added an awning over the slide, what exactly did that mean? Is it OEM or aftermarket, manual or electric?

Covers: We live on three acres and have a workshop in the back. I plan on parking the Retro beside my shop but we have ginormous pines. Is a basic cover for a 28' trailer the best way to go right out the gate? Where do I source this?

I am looking forward to posting pictures and stories from our maiden voyage as soon as we are rolling/ Until then I'll be reading here, so keep posting so I can stay up to date on the good the bad and all things Retro.

Cheers,

Rebecca

Well the local dealer finally got the 265 into inventory and then acted like a caricature of a used car salesman.

We found an honest dealer online who had the 265 in his inventory, at a price we were willing to pay, but it did not have the red interior we prefered. After debating waiting another 6-8 weeks for a unit to be built we have moved on and have signed a buyers agreement for a 195. We will drive up to take delivery a few days before Easter.

Well it has been a few weeks but we made it home after a 14 hour one way drive back from Hatfield RV in Ohio. We stopped off at KOA Nashville, ran a 1/2 marathon and spent 2 nights glamping.

Made it home and parked her in our side yard. We are now adding the retro touches that I have been collecting in anticipation of bringing her home. This weekend we are installing the TV mounts to the bedroom and kitchen. Our next trip planned is for next weekend to Lookout Mountain for a few nights and a 70.3 race in Chattanooga.

My 4 month old Dachshund was along for the ride to pick her up, as was my youngest (23 year old) daughter. Franklin gave one of the interior wheel wells a chew as a welcome to the family gesture.
