Hello,

My name is Andrea and I am new to this forum.

I am in love with the 199FKS.  My husband and I were in Oregon when we past by an RV lot with Retro's by Riverside.  I've been obsessed ever since.  We live in California and there doesn't seem to be many for sale, plus the ones that are don't have an oven. I've seen some that are out of state though.  I've been told by a dealership that they need to order 3 retro's at a time and none of the dealers here are willing to do that.  I am willing to go to another state to purchase one but I'd like to go to one that would have the most availability.  I was hoping this forum could lead me in the right direction. I'm also interested in what upgrades I should look in to adding.  Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Love the 199fks! We’ve been traveling this week, and not paying much attention to the outside world. My dealer (in Maryland) ordered mine last year, solo, with special customization details they didn’t even offer. I think the 3 at a time thing is garbage. Riverside can be tough to communicate with at times, and that may well be an excuse to avoid dealing with them and sell you something else already on the lot. If you are north, Mike Ferguson RV, Paradise CA is one of the few. Best of luck!!!

I appreciate all your responses.  I have found a few dealers in California who have 199FKS but none of them have ovens.  We are looking for one with an oven.  I've seen several out of state though.

Hi Andrea! Tiki2some ordered a 199 a few months ago and posted the Factory Options list in the link below:

Ovens are available! Also, I ordered my 181b from a dealer in Florida and got it solo in 6 weeks. Some RV dealers are “Honesty Impaired”. Some dealers are great. My experience with my Retro and my dealer have been very good, so keep looking. Camping in a Retro is a lot of fun and you will find great support on this forum!

Greetings. Posted about our discovery with options in this post —
http://www.riversidervowners.com/post/our-new-retro-options-upgrades-9739567?pid=1304212551&highlight=options+sheet
— for whatever reason, our dealer not only didn't promote upgrades, but it was like pulling teeth to get info on what was available. And the order sheet we got from the factory isn't complete. For instance: "ovens" isn't on there, tho as Fireblot says - they are available

3BDC6CD0-CD10-4764-9B8F-1BAF8A37EF82.jpeg  I had the same issue ordering mine. The info was unclear and incomplete. We ordered a number of custom things, some from the factory, some from the dealer. They got everything right, save for adding an oven when we didn't want one (the opposite issue you have). Because of my sleep disorder, we had the factory custom build two twins (pic) as opposed to the queen, which they aced.

Our dealer added an awning on the slide out, a single bowl kitchen sink, JT Strongarm jack stabilizers, One-Key system, installed my WD hitch, (all of which was free installation) and for $199/yr, offer a "Forever Warranty ", where they inspect for leaks, service appliances, seal the roof, and cover any associated repairs for the next year. I am lucky to have such a reputable dealer just 10 min from the house.

Ralph: Those twin beds are really nice!
I’m curious about the awning on your slide out....... is the same type as the power awning over your door? Does it clear the slide out or does it rest on top of it? There have been several instances where I wished fo an awning on BOTH sides of our Retro. It never ocurred to me that one could be installed on the back side, but I guess there isn’t really any reason why not!

The awning is only over the slide out, to protect it from leaves, twigs and acorns getting jammed up on top when you close it. It is on a spring roller and deploys simultaneously with the slide out. Two things... 1. It tends to flap all night in constant wind like Kitty Hawk NC. I have to toss a strap over it there to keep it quiet and undamaged. 2. If you're slide is out for any long duration, check between the slide and awning before closing. Small birds love to nest on the slide roof under the awning.

... but none of them have ovens.  We are looking for one with an oven....

I have the oven in mine. But im not to satisfied with the way it actually cooks.
I would rather have had 2 additional drawers.
I have learned to use the cast iron pans on stove top to even bake biscuits... rather than using the oven.
In addition to the cast iron cookware I use parchment paper.  15554237744191294650763813406541.jpg  once you learn how to use cast iron, you'll never look back.

We worked with Curtis Trailers in Beaverton, OR.  They had three 190BH trailers on order and we were able to customize one with a different color and added the stove.
