Hello all, I was wondering if there are any 166 owners out there with little kids accompanying them. I'm leaning toward a 166 due to our tow vehicle limit, but my wife is concerned about the small size. How does the 166 hold up for you with kids? We have a 5 month old and hopefully he'll have some siblings in the coming years. I'm more of a tent camper, or even a no-tent camper, so the trailer would be more for my wife and the kids while they're young, plus for a shower/toilet and the rare bought of inclement weather. Ideally we'd like to be able to fit a pack and play crib on the floor, which are generally 40"x30". Pictures I've seen seem to indicate that would be possible though it might block the bathroom, but there are no 166s nearby that I can see in person.

Also, the checkerboard floor tiles actually seem very helpful for estimating sizes in pictures. I'm guessing that they are about 10"x10", but can someone confirm the actual size of a single tile?

Thanks!

We have a 150 - slightly smaller than the 166.  No kids going with us, but we do have a 100# St. Barnard we sometimes take.  My wife and I are large, so one of us sleeps on the bed end, and we toss in a twin mattress on top of the folded down dinette at the other end.  The dog sleeps on the floor between us.  Sometimes we have to nudge her to get to the bathroom...lol.  It's cozy, but except for sleeping and a 3:00am nature call, we are mostly outside anyway.

We started with the 166 and took two grandchildren.  We were fine, but we are not the type that thinks things have to be perfect while camping.  We now have the 195 and that does give us more room, but if limited by TV the 166 will work.

We showed our 177SE to a mom with three kids (the youngest a new-born).  The 177 will sleep the two older kids (6, 4) on the converted dinette and she plans to sleep the baby with her and dad.   Check out the 176 pr 177, I don't think the $ difference is really that much.  Any smaller than this will be cramped, imo, but people make do and get very clever.  Good luck - you'll love the Riverside trailer, whichever you purchase.

Here's a look at our 177se recently.  You can see it isn't a overly long trailer - very easy to pull - and will sleep 4 or 5. Retro Lily at Galesville Res.JPG
